CWG 2018 - Saina Nehwal beats P V Sindhu to win women's singles gold in badminton

India's top badminton stars met in a thrilling final at the women's singles badminton event at the Commonwealth Game. Saina Nehwal defeated PV Sindhu 21-18, 23-21 to win the gold.

Sindhu took home the silver. 28-year-old Saina is also the first Indian badminton star to win two Commonwealth Games gold medals.

Saina won the first game comfortably but she was made to work for the title in the second game. She looked more aggressive than Sindhu right through the match.

Sindhu fought back a little but Saina gave her no space to get an edge.

Sindhu looked tired and that showed in her play.

The newly-crowned world no 1 Kidambi Srikanth is also in the men's single final and will take on Li Chong Wei.
