New online ticket booking rules on Indian Railways website
The Indian Railways has introduced some changes to the rules for booking tickets on the IRCTC website. Here is some information about the new ticket booking rules.
Online tickets can be booked tickets 120 days in advance.
One user can book six tickets every month and 12 tickets if the user is Aadhaar-verified.
Maximum of two tickets can be booked from one ID during 8-10 am.
The booking of Tatkal tickets can be done a day before travel and the booking timing starts from 10 am for AC coaches and 11 am for sleeper class.
Agents can book tickets between 8 am and 8.30 am, 10 am and 10.30 am and, 11 am and 11.30 am. Travel agents are not allowed book tatkal tickets during the first 30 minutes after online reservation opens.
There is time limit for entering details on the booking form online. Passenger details need to be filled in with in the set limit of 25 seconds. For entering Captcha on passenger details page and payment page is the time limit is 5 seconds.
When passengers make payment through net-banking, they have to verify it using a one-time password (OTP).
- If the train doesn’t depart within three hours of the scheduled departure.
- If the train’s route has been diverted and he/she doesn’t want to travel on that route.
- If a passenger has been shifted to a lower class than what the ticket was booked for provided he/ she doesn’t want to travel in the changed class.
