Odisha government to start a rehabilitation facility for disabled people
The Odisha government will soon start an Advanced Rehabilitation Centre (ARC) for People with Disabilities in the state. A budget of 19.40 crore rupees will be allotted for the construction of the centre which will provide the best facilities to disabled people in the state.
Niten Chandra is the Principal Secretary of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD) Department. Chandra has already approved the project and the funds for it.
This centre will have state-of-the-art facilities. There will be 2 components at the centre. One is an Advance robotic rehabilitation system. The other will be a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) system. These components are being introduced in India for the first time.
The facilities will benefit people with all kinds of disability. People who had a stroke, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, lower limb amputations, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, broken legs or pelvis, joint injuries or replacements, muscular dystrophy or other musculoskeletal disorders can also use the facilities at the centre.
Officials claimed that modern equipments and latest technology will be used at the centre and for its functioning.
