Himachal Pradesh all set to be made accessible
Himachal Pradesh will soon be made accessible for the disabled. Dr Rajiv Saizal who is the Minister for social justice and empowerment for Himachal Pradesh confirmed the news on Friday. Government buildings, educational institutions, public places and government websites of Himachal Pradesh will be made accessible by the government!
The Minister was speaking at an event and inaugurating a workshop on information technology for the blind. Saizal said that the Accessible India campaign will be introduced in full swing across the country. The campaign that was launched by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, promises accessibility across India.
The Minister also assured that youngsters in the country will be provided with technological devices.
Ajai Srivastava is the Nodal Officer for Disability Affairs. Srivastava was also present at the event. He said that the government, over the years, have not done anything for disabled. Even high court orders have not been implemented. Srivastava added that many disabled people have high hopes on the government. They do not want the government to disappoint them.
