Too much TV viewing have negative effects in kids, says experts

A recent study by child experts showed that most children are glued to television by the time they are 2 years of age. The study said that almost 60% of the children started viewing TV between 6 months and 1 year of age. More than 1000 children were used for the study.

Experts say that children must not view TV for more than two hours every day. They discourage the use of all kinds of media use in kids. This is applicable to children between two to five years of age.

If parents are going to allow their children to watch TV, they must also ensure that they do it strategically. TV viewing in kids has a negative impact on many other factors as well. It affects sleeping patterns, food habits and attention span of children.

Experts say that it is a worrying factor that children are immersed in too much screen time at a very young age.
