Weather department predicts an early monsoon in South India this year
Time to say goodbye to summer woes! According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), monsoon will arrive early this year. Reports confirm that monsoons will begin in Kerala from 25 May.
Earlier, the IMD had said that monsoons will begin only by June. If the rains begin on May this year, it will be the earliest monsoon onset since the past 7 years. There will be a change in the wind direction and good rainfall will be received. The southern part of India can expect heavy rainfalls this year. The circulation of Monsoon usually starts from mid May.
There will be a change in the wind circulation pattern from 18 May to 24 May. It will happen over the Arabian Sea. The wind will move towards the west by 25 May. There will be good rainfall in the Arabian Sea and nearby South Peninsula.
Many parts of South India have been receiving rains since the past one week.
