Exit polls divided over outcome of Karnataka Assembly elections

Exit polls are divided over the results of the Karnataka assembly elections.

Six polls predict that the BJP will be the single largest party. Three say that the Congress will be.

Only three polls say that there will be a clear winner. The rest predict a hung assembly.

The results will be known tomorrow when counting takes place.

The main contest here is between the BJP and the Congress party.

Some exit polls say that the BJP will win around 120 to 130 seats, with the Congress party's share declining, with a win of around 70-73 seats only.

Some polls have also predicted a hung assembly, with no single party winning enough seats to claim a majority and form the next government in Karnataka.

Exit polls for the last assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have been wide off the mark.
