Telangana park hosts a fun summer camp for children with disabilities
The National Park for People with Special Needs in Hyderabad in Telangana is alive with activity this summer.
The park has been hosting a summer camp, which ends today, by the Ayesha Educational Society in collaboration with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).
The camp begins at 10 am and ends at 1 pm. People with disabilities get to participate in various activities like art and craft, music and gardening, horse riding, magic shows, painting, singing and dancing.
The children are also provided free therapy, including physiotherapy, speech therapy, behaviour modification therapy, audiology (hearing test), and psychological testing. Counsellors decide on the required therapies after spending some time with the children.
Some courses in computer basics and English reading and writing were also given.
For the first two days, children were trained in arts and crafts. On the third day, they got to take part in a fancy dress contest.
Many outdoor activities such as frog race, snake crawl, and a treasure hunt were also on the list of activities.
