Markets fall as election results in Karnataka throw up uncertain results
Just when the BJP was all set to celebrate its victory in Karnataka, the Congress and Janata Dal Secular (JDS) seem to be cosying up to form an alliance.
Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has proposed to make JDS candidate HD Kumaraswamy the Chief Minister of Karnataka if the alliance is successful.
The impact is being felt in the stock markets have also been affected. They ended flat when news came of a possible Congress-JDS alliance.
The market fell sharply to end below the flatline. The BSE Sensex slipped 437 points to end at 35,543.94. Th NSE Nifty managed to hold the 10,800-mark, down 4.70 points at 10,801.90.
