Taapsee Pannu to play role of real life hockey player who made a comeback after being paralyzed
Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu will soon be seen in a film called Soorma. She will play the role of a sportsperson and the story is based on the life of hockey player Sandeep Singh.
The film will be directed by Shaad Ali. Soorma tells the story of ace hockey player Sandeep Singh. Singh was paralyzed after an accidental gunshot in 2006. He used a wheelchair for two years.
Singh got back on his feet and made a comeback to international hockey in 2008. Under his captaincy, India won the 2009 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup and went on to qualify for the 2012 Olympics.
Taapsee has undergone immense training for the role. There are reports that she was trained by Singh himself.
