Keto diet helps reduce weight & is good for eye care, says new study

Keto diet is one of the most popular diets followed by youngsters today. A recent study has found out that Keto diet is good for protection of eyes. It helps in preventing glaucoma to a large extent.

Keto diet is high in fat and low in proteins and carbohydrates. It has more than 90% fat. The diet is usually followed for two months or more.

The study was conducted by a group of researchers in the United States. Foods that are low in carbohydrates and high in fat protect retina of the human eye. This is extremely beneficial to prevent glaucoma.

There is a high rate of glaucoma in people with diabetes. Studies confirm that there is a connection between eye disease and metabolic stress.

This new study on keto diet was conducted on mice. Experts confirm that this is applicable to the human body as well.

Mice that were fed foods that are rich in carbohydrates and proteins showed symptoms of glaucoma over others.
