Indore emerges as India's cleanest city in national survey
Recently, the Swachh Survekshan 2018 conducted a survey on the cleanest cities in India. Indore emerged as the cleanest, followed by Bhopal and Chandigarh.
Jharkhand was found to be the best performing state, followed by Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh.
Until last year, the Swachh Survekshan survey only looked into the district administration and how it functioned. But this year onwards, they took feedback from locals living in the cities as well. Feedback from the daily lives of citizens from all these cities was taken into account before publishing the survey.
Last year too, Indore had emerged as the cleanest city. But only 430 cities took part in the survey. This year, the survey was conducted on more than 4,200 cities from across India.
The names of the worst performing cities will be announced when awards are given out.
