Mumbai dabbawalas have gifts for British royal couple on their special day

Wedding bells are ringing for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. People from across the globe are all set to celebrate the wedding on 19 May. The dabbawalas (Tiffin carriers) of Mumbai are also gearing up for celebrations. They are going to distribute sweets to patients of three hospitals in Mumbai.

The dabbawalas provide delicious food to relatives of patients outside these hospitals. On 19 May, they will distribute sweets as well along with the meals!

They also plan to gift the royal couple the famous Kolhapuri Pheta. This traditional Maharashtrian turban and a Paithani saree will be gifted to Meghan Markle.

A representative from the dabbawalas said that the royal family of England is very special to them. Prince Charles had invited them for his wedding a few years ago. The dabbawalas were treated with great respect during their entire stay in England.

Prince Harry is the fifth in line to the British throne. He has been dating American actress Meghan Markle for over two years now. The couple announced their wedding a few months back. The wedding will take place at the St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.
