Disabled models walk the ramp at an event in Jaipur
It was quite a sight to watch disabled fashionistas walk down the ramp at an event in Jaipur. Many disabled people took part in a fashion show that was hosted in Rajasthan’s state capital Jaipur. The show was hosted exclusively for people with disabilities.
The event was organised by the NGO Narayan Seva Sansthan. It works towards the welfare of disabled people and those from economically backward families.
There were four rounds for the event. There were different categories for those using calipers, wheelchairs, crutches and artificial limbs. Each round had 10 participants walking down the ramp.
Popular actor and dancer Sudha Chandran was present at the event. She took part in judging the event and cheering the crowd as well. Chandran is am amputee. She lost a leg in a car accident many years ago.
Chandran said that she was inspired and touched by the show that was put up by the participants. She added that disabled people must never be ignored in the society.
An official from Narayan Seva Sansthan said that the participants have been working very hard for the fashion show. The event was a success only due to their courage and confidence.
