Indian disabled cricket team gets huge support from celebrities
The Disabled Indian Cricket Team is at Singapore to take part in the three-day Alan Border Cup tournament for disabled people. Thanks to the Big Brother Foundation!
This initiative by actor and businessman Sachin Joshi is supported by famous actor Hiten Tejwani and former Indian all-rounder Mohinder Amarnath. This is the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) venture of Joshi’s company Viking Ventures.
Officials at the Disability Sporting Society (DSS), that runs the disabled cricket team, are very excited about their new tie-up. An official from DSS said that the main aim of DSS is to provide equal opportunities for disabled sportsmen in India.
Amarnath said that he is proud to be part of this venture. He added that the team members of disabled cricket are extremely talented. He hopes that the team will be affiliated by the Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI) some day.
The tournament is currently happening at Singapore. The event began on 25 May and will end today.
