Sensex up by 416 points on HDFC Bank aid

The markets saw an upward movement as a late rally helped benchmark indices gained more than 1%. This was thanks to banking and financials, oil and gas stocks and Infosys.

Gains in global stocks and some relief over the political turmoil in Italy also boosted market sentiment.

The Sensex rose 416.27 points or 1.19% to 35,322.38. The Nifty gained 121.80 points or 1.15% at 10,736.20.

HDFC Bank was the second biggest gainers among Nifty50 stocks and main driver for the rally. It gained 4.5% percent ahead of opening.
