World Health Organization is all set to promote importance of physical activity!

Over the years, studies have thrown light on the importance of physical activity for the body. Do you make sure that you go for a run, walk or to the gym regularly? If you are not taking up any physical activity, then you are at the risk of many fatal diseases. Even the World Health Organization (WHO) is gearing up to promote the importance of physical activity!

WHO recently launched a campaign, Global action plan on physical activity and health 2018-2030: More active people for a healthier world. This venture aims at promoting physical activity amongst children, adults and elderly across the world.

An official from WHO said that staying fit is very important. But in the modern world, it turns out to be difficult because our cities and communities are not designed for it. Cities must have healthier spaces, and there must be leaders who will ensure physical activity amongst people.

According to reports, one in five adults and four in five adolescents across the world do not engage in any physical activity. Hence, they are prone to many diseases as well.

The venture also promotes training of health care workers and professionals, building stronger data systems and using digital technology to the maximum.
