Senior citizens in Karnataka to be given monthly pension, says chief minister H D Kumaraswamy
The new chief minister of Karnataka, HD Kumaraswamy, is gearing up to fulfil all the promises made during his election campaigns.
He has said that people who are 65 years of age and above, will get a monthly pension of Rs 6,000. This is to prove that the welfare of the elderly in Karnataka is very important to the new government.
Kumaraswamy has made several other promises as well to look after the welfare of poor people, including farmers. Some of these promises will be announced in the upcoming state budget.
Kumaraswamy has also promised that excessive spending of certain government departments will be cut down. This will help in providing more benefits to the economically backward sections of the society.
