Work stress puts you at risk for stroke, dementia
Work stress has become a part of our lives. People are always thinking about deadlines, upcoming projects, or targets in ongoing ones. But don't brush this aside as normal because it puts you at risk of irregular heart rate, also known as atrial fibrillation.
Atrial fibrillation can lead to strokes, dementia, and even heart failure. A person is prone to this condition 48% more if they are stressed at work. Hence, this is one of the most dreaded health risks.
Experts say that if a person feels palpitation at work or stresses too much, they must take steps to calm down. They should consult a doctor and speak to concerned authorities at work about improving the situation at the workplace.
All those who took part in the study and were diagnosed with atrial fibrillation said they did feel any of these symptoms before they started their jobs.
