Depression during pregnancy can lead to the baby developing sleep problems

A recent study says that pre-natal as well as post-natal depression in a mother can play an important role in the sleep patterns of the baby. If the mother is happy during the second and third trimesters, the child will have lesser sleep problems.
Experts say that this throws light on the importance of mothers taking care of their mental health during pregnancy. To create a healthy lifestyle for the child, the mother must remain happy during her pregnancy.
The study says that the behaviour patterns of the mother during pregnancy determine other health indicators of the child as well.
The findings are based on a study done on a group of kindergarten children from Baltimore in the United States. All the children were of six years and below.
