Umang foundation urged Himachal government to implement RPWD Act

Umang foundation has been working in Himachal Pradesh to support the right of people with disabilities.

The foundation has now urged the government of the state to work towards the implementation of the RPWD Act 2016.

Although the landmark act was passed last year, its implementation has not been done fully in the country. The delay is hampering the welfare of people with disabilities as they are missing out on the benefits and rights set for them.

A letter has been sent by the Umang foundation to the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Jairam Thakur, regarding faster action regarding implementation of the RPWD Act.

The Chief Minister has been requested to take immediate action in this regards as thousands of disabled people in Himachal are awaiting the act to come into effect.
