Railway launches food menu app for travelers
Most people in India travel by trains as the railway network is spread across all parts of the country.
To make travelling comfortable, railways has been making lot of positive changes in its services.
The food served in trains and its pricing has been of questionable quality over the years.
The railway department has tried to make the food better. Many passengers complain of being charged more for food items by the railway staff.
Now an app has been launched that will make the pricing of the railway menu transparent for the travelers.
“Menu on Rail” application will ensure that the passengers know the exact price of a food or drink item being served by the railway.
The application was launched by Railway Minister Piyush Goyal this week.
‘Menu on Rail’ will display the menu to passengers travelling in Mail/Express, including Humsafar Train, Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto, Gatiman Express and Tejas Express.
The menu list the details under four categories namely, beverages, breakfast, meals and a-la-carte.
Passengers can also book a complaint using the app.
