More than 450 disabled people participate in government camp at Punjab
The government of Punjab has always stood up for safeguarding the rights and privileges of disabled people. The state has initiated many camps and welfare programmes exclusively for disabled people!
Recently, the state hosted a nine day camp for people with disabilities. More than 450 people took part in the camp. Authorities point out that more than 2500 disabled people had registered for the camp.
Wheelchairs, tricycles, hearing aids, speaking devices, artificial limbs and other assistive devices were provided to disabled people at the camp. All of these were provided free of cost!
The camp was inaugurated by Ravneet Singh Bittu who is the Member of Parliament (MP) at Ludhiana. According to officials, the camp was a huge success. Bittu said that this initiative was done in order to give a healing touch to the lives of people with disabilities in Punjab. Many disabled people who were from economically backward families also benefitted from the camp.
Products worth Rs 2 crore were given away at the camp. The government assured that more assistive devices will be provided in days to come.
