Governor of Jammu and Kashmir hosts reception for disabled kids!
The governor and first lady of Jammu and Kashmir did something unique for a group of disabled children in the state. They hosted a small reception for deaf and speech impaired children!
Governor N.N. Vohra and Mrs. Usha Vohra hosted the event at Raj Bhavan on Thursday for students of the Chotay Taray Foundation and Humanity Welfare Organisation in Srinagar.
More than 100 children took part in the reception. The governor and his wife ensured that they speak to children and interact with them throughout the event while the children enjoyed delicious savouries!
Muhammad Iqbal Lone who is the Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities also took part in the reception. The governor discussed with the commissioner about the various difficulties and hurdles faced by disabled children and welfare organizations in the state.
The governor lauded the initiatives and work done by NGO’s for disabled people in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the government will take all steps to make sure that disabled people are given equal rights in the state.
