2-day Abilympics event concludes at Hyderabad

Hyderabad recently hosted a two day Abilympics for disabled people across south India. The Abilympics is a platform where the skills, talents and capabilities of disabled people are showcased through various events. According to officials, the two-day event was a huge success!

The south zone event was held on Thursday and Friday at the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) at Hyderabad. Disabled people could participate in 10 different vocational skill events. Those who won for the events will participate in the National Competitions that will be held in Delhi later this year.

Many important officials from various government organizations and NGO’s addressed the crowd during the event.

Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Information Technology (IT) was chief guest at the event. He said that disabled people must be given more opportunities and skills so that they can become independent in life. Disabled people have to take up challenges in a positive manner and work towards creating a better future for themselves
