Haryana to get an artificial limbs centre and hospital for disabled people
Haryana will soon own an artificial limbs centre! Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has laid the foundation stone for the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) at Faridabad on Saturday.
The chief minister also said that the state will get an exclusive hospital for disabled people which will be built over five acres. More details regarding the location, budget etc were not revealed by the minister.
This will be a huge blessing to disabled people in North India. Those from Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will benefit from this project the most.
Various schemes and initiatives will be implemented at the limbs centre. Limbs-fitting, awareness generation schemes for the empowerment of differently-abled persons are some of them.
This new artificial limbs centre will be set up under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The project will be completed in a year.
