Ahmedabad opens exclusive skill centre for over 500 disabled people!
India hosts very few exclusive skilled centres for disabled people. For a country to prosper, disabled people must be given equal opportunities in the field of education and employment. Ahmedabad is all set to host an exclusive centre for teaching computer skills to disabled people!
The centre was inaugurated by Shakuntala Gamin who is the secretary of the department of empowering people with disabilities. The centre will train disabled people in computers that includes coding, designing and data analytics so that they get a job to become independent.
This 50 crore initiative is taken up by Radical Skills Education and Research Centre (RSERC), a company that is based in Ahmedabad. RSERC aims to provide skills to at least 500 disabled people by the end of this year!
An official from RSERC said that they are aiming at providing employment to as many disabled people as possible. They even have staffs that are trained in sign language! They have already equipped themselves to cater to needs of disabled people.
RSERC plans to expand this venture to other parts of India including Mumbai, Thane, Noida, and Gangtok. This initiative is definitely going to help hundreds of disabled people out there!
