Army unit shows a big heart, adopts disabled Manipur girl
Humanity comes first, this has been proven by the entire army unit of 19 Assam Rifles.
The soldiers have shown a big heart by adopting a 20-year-old physically disabled girl named Hoineithem Haokip.
Hoineithem has been paralysed below her waist since the young age of six years due to polio.
Colonel Anand Bajpai met Hoineithem in Tuitong village of Manipur a few months back and was moved by the poor conditions she was living in.
Colonel Bajpai, his wife, and the 19 Assam Rifles unit, decided to adopt Hoineithem and provide her with a better life.
She has been given a wheelchair and the unit is also helping her become financially independent.
Hoineithem used to make artificial flowers from waste material earlier and now will be able to make better flower bouquets for sale. She us happy and cannot stop smiling! e is able to do much more now.
The 19 Assam Rifles unit men have also helped her get admission in the Arts and Crafts Training College at Thoubal. Hoineithem will be undergoing training for a year at the college.
The gesture of kindness has made a huge difference in the life of the disabled girl. The entire village appreciates the effort.
