Home Ministry increases security around Prime Minister Narendra Modi

As per reports, the threats to Prime Minister Narendra Modi are at an all-time high. Security around the Prime Minister has been tightened and new security protocols have been implemented.

No one is allowed to come near the Prime Minister without extensive checking.

Home ministry has made it compulsory for ministers and officers to get clearance from the Special Protection Group - SPG staff before meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The action has been taken based on the information from Maharashtra Police in Pune. Pune Police claimed to have unearthed a Maoists conspiracy to harm the Prime Minister.

Security agencies have also advised the PM against making too many appearances at roadshows before the next year’s general elections.

The home ministry has also written to the state police chiefs across all the states and warned them about an "unknown threat" to PM Modi.
