Four Malayalam actresses quit film body after actor Dileep's return into it's office!
Last February, a leading Malayalam actress was kidnapped and sexually assaulted in a moving car at Kochi in Kerala. A few days later, Malayalam actor Dileep was arrested by the police for hiring goons to do the crime. He was jailed for more than 3 months, but was released after that. This Malayalam superstar has still not been relieved from the case nor is he found innocent.
Dileep, who was removed from the position of Secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) after being accused, has now come back to the organization in full swing. He has been appointed yet again in the same position! As a protest against this insensitive move by AMMA, actresses Rima Kallingal, Geethu Mohandas, Ramya Nambeesan along with the victim quit AMMA.
The actresses said that they were shocked by AMMA’s latest move, and the organization has clearly showed their stand towards the victim. Meanwhile, the victim asserted that it is meaningless to continue in the organization and she prefers to quit. Ramya added that she hopes more actors will quit the organization to show their support to the victim.
A few months back, all these three actresses, along with other eminent women personalities in Malayalam cinema, had started the Women in Cinema Collective Forum. This forum was created to ensure that female artists get to work equally along with men sans any gender discrimination in the industry.
