One out of 68 children in India have autism, says experts
More than a million children in India have been diagnosed with autism. According to reports, one out of 68 children in India have autism. All that a child with autism asks is a little bit of patience, care, love and attention!
The SRM Institute of Science and Technology in Chennai conducted a national conference on autism on Thursday. Many students, parents, experts, along with government and health officials took part in the event. Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit was the Chief Guest at the event.
Purohit said that a child with autism can do things independently once they are equipped for it in the right manner. In order to achieve that they need to be trained, developed and provided practice! Parents and teachers can train them in skills like reading facial expressions, gestures and communicating with peers, siblings and friends.
Other experts who attended the event spoke about the different fields of medicine and branches of science that can be explored for the treatment of autism.
