This new app helps to find out missing children!
In India, a child is missing every minute. While some are found, the whereabouts and details of many others are lost forever. The government, along with the support a software company and an NGO has developed a new mobile app that will help find missing and abandoned children!
The mobile app ReUnite was launched by Suresh Prabhu who is the Union Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation.
The minister said that this is a wonderful initiative to help thousands of children across the country. The app shows how technology can be put into effective use for social causes.
This multi-user app can be used by both parents and citizens as well. Details like name, birth mark, address and police station that the found child has to be reported to will be provided in the ReUnite app.
Amazon Rekognition, which is a web facial recognition service is also used in the app. The ReUnite app can be downloaded in Android and iPhones as well.
The app was developed by tech giants Capgemini along with the NGO Bachpan Bachao Andolan.
