11 members of a family in Delhi found dead, some were hanging, some in blindfold
Eleven members of a family were found dead inside a home in Burari in north Delhi on Sunday. While some of the victims were found hanging from an iron grill ceiling, others were lying on the floor blindfolded with their hands and legs tied up.
Police are treating the case as a murder.
Seven of those victims are women, including a 75-year-old. Three are minors, said the police.
The family ran a grocery shop and plywood business out of their home. The shop would open every day at 6 am, but when it did not until much later, neighbours went to check and found most of them hanging from the grill ceiling. Neighbours say the family had no enemies and are baffled by what has happened.
The police is checking CCTV footage from the area for more clues. The bodies have been taken for post mortem.
