Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan likes to say that his state is ahead of the rest when it comes to the welfare of disabled people. So, what does M.P offer by way of disability pension? Well, for one, it offers two schemes, one for people with multiple disabilities, while the other is for a person with a single disability.

In M.P, these schemes are a part of SPARSH, which stands for Special Project for Assistance, Rehabilitation and Strengthening of Handicapped.

The scheme for people with multiple disabilities is called State Disability Pension. The other, called State Social Security Pension, is for a person with a single disability.

We start by giving you details of the first.

State Disability Pension

Allowance offered

The per month allowance is Rs 500 for a person with multiple disabilities.

What makes you eligible

  • Beneficiary has to be over 6 years old.
  • Has multiple disabilities/intellectual disability
  • Resident of M.P
  • Below Poverty Line

Documents Required

  • Disability certificate
  • Proof of residence
  • Age proof
  • Income proof ( BPL card/certificate from panchayat or Nagar Palika)

Procedure for application

Application forms to be taken and submitted to gram panchayat/Sarpanch and Municipal council or municipality/Nagar Panchayat at rural as well as urban levels.

Now for the second scheme.

State Social Security Pension

Allowance offered

The pension for a person with a single disability is Rs 150 per month.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Above 40% disability
  • Below Poverty Line
  • Above 8 years of age
  • Resident of M.P.

Documents Required

  • Disability certificate
  • Proof of residence
  • Age proof
  • Income proof
  • Passport size photo
