A Facebook post, some good people helped fulfill the wish of a little girl
A Facebook post has helped the daughter of blind parents own a bicycle.
Manjushree is the 8 year old daughter of a visually impaired couple in Bengaluru and her parents work hard to meet the financial requirements of their small family.
Due to money constraints, Nagesh and Sudha were not able to buy a bicycle for Manjushree when she expressed her wish to get one.
This came to the notice of an acquaintance Nagaraj Basarakod, a financial advisor with LIC. Nagaraj posted on a Facebook group called the Whitefield Rising, and asked for helping in purchasing a bicycle.
Through the group Nagaraj got to know about Anvaya Foundation that was founded by Sampath Ramanujam.
The Foundation runs an initiative called ‘Freedom Pedals’ that deals in new or gently used bicycles in Bengaluru, services them and gives them to needy children in rural areas.
The foundation has been giving out the refurbished bicycles to kids in villages so that they can attend schools.
Sampath helped arrange a bicycle for Manjushree and the joy of the little girl is immense.
Her parents are also happy to know that so many people made the effort to make their child’s wish come true.
