New 100 rupee notes will be violet in color

The reserve bank of India all set to launch a new version of the 100 rupee note in the country.

As per reports, the new notes of 100 rupee value will be violet in colour. The notes will be introduced for public use in August or September this year.

The older 100 rupee notes will also continue to remain valid and in use.

The printing of the notes is currently in progress. The notes will also have some new security features.

The new notes will have a motif of archaeological site 'Rani ki vav' from the state of Gujarat on the reverse.

Reportedly the new notes will be smaller than the currently used 100 rupee notes but bigger than the new 10 rupee note.

This means that ATMs may have to be recalibrated by the banks to dispense them.
