Former cricketer Kapil Dev makes it to national golf team
Former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev has been selected in the national golf team to take part in the 2018 Asia-Pacific Senior Amateur Championship.
The championship is to be held in Japan from 17 October to 19 October.
The 59-year-old player qualified after finishing third in the All India Seniors Golf Championship that was held in Noida earlier this month. Male golf player aged 55 years or more are qualified to play for the Asia Pacific Seniors competition.
Kapil Dev was the captain of the Indian cricket team in 1983, when India won its first Cricket World Cup.
He retired from the game 24 years ago and will soon be representing the country in a sport other than cricket.
He started playing golf after retiring from cricket and started loving the sport.
