After much political chaos, M Karunanidhi rests in peace at Marina Beach
While Tamil Nadu was mourning the loss of their favourite leader M Karunanidhi, his Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) was battling at Madras High Court for their beloved leader to be buried at the iconic Marina Beach. After a quick hearing of the petition filed by DMK on Tuesday night, the high court has granted permission for Karunanidhi’s family to perform his last rites and bury him at Marina Beach!
The AIADMK government, who is currently ruling Tamil Nadu, had denied permission for Karunannidhi’s family to bury the legendary politician in Marina Beach stating many reasons.
Though political rivalries between both the parties are known to masses, many popular figures came out to speak up for the DMK during their darkest hour. Superstars including Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan said that Karunanidhi’s family must be granted permission to bury him at Marina Beach.
The ex Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and founder of DMK party passed away at 94 years at Kaveri Hospital in Chennai on Tuesday. Lakhs of Tamilians thronged Rajaji Hall on Monday, where his body was kept for public to pay their last respects.
