All India Institute of Medical Sciences begins door step health screening for elderly people
We have some good news for elderly people living in old age homes of Delhi. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has now started a door step service for elderly people living in old ages homes in the national capital of New Delhi.
AIIMS claim that they have always been doing their bit for the society. This year, they decided to take up something that benefits hundreds of elderly people in old age homes. Most of them are denied of basic medical facilities. 80% of them are run by NGO’s and has zero health care amenities for elderly people. Hence, their quality of life goes for a toss!
According to reports, this new service will ensure that a mobile van will visit old ages homes regularly. They will provide testing and screening of common illnesses on the spot. Even though there would be only limited services initially, more old age homes will be added to the list soon.
Authorities said that the van will have basic equipments for laboratory tests, medicines and physiotherapy.
