Tamil actor Siddharth kick starts the ‘Kerala Donation Challenge’ for flood victims

Kerala is now going through one of the worst natural disasters of monsoon fury. Over 300 people are reported dead in a week. The incessant floods and rains is undoubtedly one of the worst calamities that India has witnessed. In spite of this, very few politicians or actors from across India have come forward to show their support to the victims. But Tamil actor Siddharth is gearing up to do his bit.

The actor tweeted about the ‘Kerala Donation Challenge’ for funds that will help rehabilitate lakhs of victims in the state. The actor tweeted, ‘I dare you. I beg of you! What do I have to do to make you read and share this? I did the #KeralaDonationChallenge. It was awesome! Will you? Please? #KeralaFloods #SaveKerala @CMOKerala’.

The amount will go towards the Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund.

In a letter along with the tweet, Siddharth said that he is pained by the lack of attention that this disaster gets on a national level. This apathy is something similar to what the national media did during the Chennai floods in 2015 where Siddharth himself was a victim after losing his home!

He also stated that the entire country must stand along with Kerala during this dark hour.

Apart from Siddarth, Suriya, Karthi, Kamal Haasan, Mohanlal, Mammootty, Allu Arjun, Vijay Deverakonda and Dulquer Salman are some of the other actors who contributed towards the cause.
