Congress party leaders to donate one month salary for Kerala relief work
All leaders of the Congress party including the MPs, MLAs and MLCs will be donating their one month's salary for relief measures in Kerala.
This was announced yesterday by Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala. He said that the contribution of one month salary will be made by all elected representatives of the party.
The decision was taken at a meeting presided over by party chief Rahul Gandhi. The meeting was attended by Congress general secretaries, party in-charges of states, legislative party leaders and state unit chiefs.
The decision has been taken to contribute towards the relief work needed in the state of Kerala.
Rahul Gandhi has also urged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should immediately declare the floods in Kerala as a national disaster.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also announced through Twitter that all AAP MLAs, MPs and ministers will be donating their one-month salary towards relief work in flood-hit Kerala.
