Body of missing Mumbai banker found, office rivalry suspected to be cause of murder
Five days after he went missing, the body of Siddharth Sanghavi, a vice president with HDFC Bank has been found.
One man has also been arrested. Police have identified him as Sarfaraz Shaikh, a 20-year-old contract labourer.
39-year-old Sanghavi went missing after he left his Mumbai office on Wednesday. His car was found abandoned a day later in Navi Mumbai. There were bloodstains and a knife on the back seat. Sanghavi lived in a posh area and had got many promotions quickly after he joined the bank.
Police are looking at whether professional jealousy was a possible reason. They say Shaikh may have been hired by a rival. He has apparently given the police the names of three persons who he claims stabbed Sanghvi at a parking lot.
Sanghvi is survived by his parents, wife and a four-year-old son.
