Kerala nun appeals to Vatican for justice in rape case

The nun from Kerala who alleges to have been raped by a Bishop has requested the Vatican for help.

As per reports, the nun has written a letter to Giambattista Diquattro, a representative of the Pope. Giambattista Diquattro is the diplomatic representative of the church in India and Nepal and is an ambassador to the Pope.

In her letter, the nun has mentioned that the Bishop Franco Mullakkal, is being protected due to his "political and financial power". The letter claims that this is why the accused has not been arrested and is being shielded by the church.

The seven page letter is a plea for justice to the Pope as she has not received much support from the church in India. The nun has also requested the Vatican to intervene in the matter and help her get justice in the matter.

The letter states that the nun was sexually exploited by Bishop Franco Mullakkal from 2014 to 2016.

Vatican City or the Vatican is in Italy and is the headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church.
