2.0 movie makers have already earned 370 crore before release

November 25, 2018

The much awaited film 2.0 starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar is releasing this Thursday, 29 November, and fans are eager to watch it. The movie a sequel to the 2010 Tamil film Enthiran, which had Rajinikanth playing the role of a robot.

The makers of 2.0 have roped in Bollywood star Akshay Kumar for the role of villain and that has upped the excitement quotient of the movie.

2.0 is said to be the most expensive Indian film made to date with a budget of more than Rs540 crore. However, the makers have already earned more than half of this amount through the sale of the film's satellite rights, digital rights and the distribution rights.

As per reports, Lyca Productions who has produced 2.0's has sold its satellite rights for Rs. 120 crore and the digital rights for Rs. 60 crore in all versions.

The distribution rights of the movie have been sold out by the makers in the northern belt, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala for 190 crore rupees. However, considering the fact that the maximum profit is expected from Tamil Nadu region and overseas screening, makers have kept these to themselves.

2.0 is being released in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu and is expected to recover the remaining 130 crore rupees in the very first week of it's release. This however, will also depend on the content of the film.

Recently released high budget movie Thugs Of Hindostan bombed at the box office despite the presence of Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan. The reasn behind the film's failure is attributed to a poor script and lack of content.

Social media is talking about the film.
