Injury forces Prithvi Shaw out of first Test match against Australia

Team India has suffered a major blow with rising batting star Prithvi Shaw ruled out of the first Test against Australia in Adelaide. Shaw hurt his ankle while trying to take a catch against Cricket Australia XI and had to be carried off the ground. The 19-year-old rolled his left ankle attempting a catch.
The Indian cricket board said Shaw had a ligament injury.
Shaw underwent scans this morning and the reports revealed a lateral ligament injury. Shaw will be unavailable for the First Test against Australia in Adelaide. He will undergo an intensive rehabilitation program to hasten the recovery and be available for selection at the earliest. -Board of Control of Cricket in India
Shaw scored a debut century in the first Test against the Windies in October. A right-hander, he was seen as a certainty to open the batting in Adelaide next week. The news is a major blow for India which has just six days to go before the opening Test. Who will be in the top-order will be a worry. Chances are Murali Vijay and K L Rahul.
India batting coach Sanjay Bangar, has said the opening spot was up for grabs.
