India won third test match in Australia
December 31, 2018
India won the third test match in Australia by 137 runs. This is the 26th win in 45 Test matches that the India team has played with Virat Kohli as captain.
The team had set the target of scoring 399 to win for Australia which was quite a challenge.
India had earlier won the first Test in Adelaide by 31 runs. It now leads the four-match series by 2-1 and the team now has better chances of winning their first-ever Test series in Australia.
The series played so far saw Indian players reach new milestones. Jasprit Bumrah has become the highest wicket-taker in international cricket in 2018 with 78 wickets. Rishabh Pant has become the first Indian wicketkeeper to take 20 catches in a Test series. Pant took 11 catches in the first Test, six in the second and three in the third.
The Australian team seems to have a very weak batting side as only Cummins reached the 50 run score in Melbourne. The ongoing ban on Steve Smith and David Warner has harmed the overall performance of the team.
Indian cricket fans are rejoicing at the moment and expressing on the social media.
