Uri: The Surgical Strike is 2019's 1st hit

'Uri: The Surgical Strike', movie has emerged as the first block buster movie of the year. The film has done better than the other movies released in this year so far and it is still going steady.
The film was released on 11 January and has already entered the Rs 100 crore club, becoming the first hit of 2019.
The success of 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' was unexpected as it has been made on a budget of only 25 crore but has touched the masses.
The film stars Vicky Kaushal, Paresh Rawal, Mohit Raina and Yami Gautam in the main roles and is based on the surgical strikes on Pakistan by the Indian army as a response to the Uri army base attack in 2016.
The audience have liked the patriotic story and the execution of the idea by writer and director Aditya Dhar.
Trade experts feel that the movie will continue to earn in the coming days and may face some competition from Kangana Ranaut's 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' which is due to release on 25 January.
