India registers biggest win in New Zealand
January 27, 2019
India won its second One Day International Match against New Zealand on Saturday.
India defeated the rivals by 90 runs and registered its biggest ODI victory in New Zealand till date. Earlier in 2009, India had beat New Zealand by 84 runs and yesterday's victory at the Bay Oval stadium has now become the biggest.
Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar lauded the team for the victory and tweeted," India have been convincing yet again today to go 2 up in the series. The opening partnership was the key & bowlers did the rest. Most sides will have to find a way to score runs against @yuzi_chahal & @imkuldeep18 & not lose too many wickets in the middle overs. #NZvIND"
The toss was won by India and the team batted first running up a score of 324 for 4 in 50 overs. New Zealand team was all out 234 runs in 40.2 overs.
Kuldeep Yadav took four wickets, Bhuvneshwer Kumar and Yuzvendra Chahal took 2 wickets each, while Kedar Jadhav and Mohamad Shami took 1 wicket each.
On the batting scene, Rohit Sharma made a high score of 87 runs of 96 balls.
India is now leading in the ODI series by 2-0. The third ODI in the five match series will be played tomorrow.
Exciting times for the fans of the Indian cricket team.
