Over 3 crore people participate in Mauni Amavasya at Kumbh Mela

Kumbh Mela, one of the biggest Indian festivals is currently going on. Millions of people from across the world are gathering at the event. On Monday, the holy event witnessed over 3 crore people participating because of the auspicious Mauni Amavasya. All the people gathered at Prayagraj for the most auspicious holy bathing day.
Mauni Avasya is the new moon day of the Hindu calendar. According to traditions, this day is when sage Rishabh Dev broke his vow of silence and bathed in the river. Saints point out the day is even more auspicious if it falls on Monday.

Prayagraj witnessed heavy security on Monday with thousands of policemen being deployed across the place. Many fire stations were also set up to make sure that the place is fully safe. Entry of vehicles across Prayagraj was also controlled. Authorities pointed out they are ready to face any emergency situation.
