One CRPF jawan killed, six others injured in naxal attack

A CRPF jawan named Shashikant Tiwari was killed and six others were injured in an attack by naxals in Chattisgarh's Dantewada district on Monday. A team of CRPF's 231st battalion along with a state police unit was patrolling in Aranpur when the incident happened. An explosive device exploded after which naxals opened fire. The injured jawans were later airlifted to Raipur for treatment.
The incident took place around 4.30 pm on Monday. The CRPF team and police personal's opened back fire at the naxals. Reportedly, no naxals were killed in the attack.

This incident happened a month after the Pulwama attack that killed over 40 CRPF jawans. A suicide bomber rammed into a truck of CRPF jawans with explosives inside his car. All the 40 jawans inside the truck were killed.
